St Jude’s – School Refurbishment

we were recently tasked with refurbishing elements of St Jude’s Church of England Primary
School, based in Lambeth, South London.

While revamping spaces, we strive to weave components of each of our client’s values into
every corner. We keep their principles at the forefront of our minds throughout the process,
from the initial surveying of the area to the final implementation of our design ideas. This
ensures that the resulting outcome is one brimming with personality, a space that is infused
with the very foundations that the organisation itself is built upon.

refurbishment project, as we understand how matching a physical space to an
organisation’s ethos can be exponentially beneficial in a number of ways. It reminds
teachers of the values they are hired to demonstrate to pupils in their classes, motivating
them to incorporate these morals into lessons. It reinforces the parents’ levels of
satisfaction in knowing they’ve selected the right school that will instil these life-long
lessons of virtue and morality within their children. Finally, it prompts the children to
remember that they represent the school and its ideals at all times, whether they’re in or
outside of the classroom.

Forest Hall – Washroom Refurbishment

Our great reputation amongst those in the educational sector earned us the privilege of
being tasked with refurbishing some of Forest Hall School’s previously outdated facilities.
Located in Essex, the school prides itself on its strong sense of community and the focus
they place on their inter-House system. This system gives the school’s students a great
sense of belonging. This is something that we at Brookhouse UK understand to be a crucial
factor in developing well-designed atmospheres within which students can work and
achieve their full potential.

As experts in re-designing spaces for students, we always acknowledge the importance of
focusing not only on the classroom spaces, but on other facilities too. Providing students
with comfortable areas beyond the classroom is key to ensuring they feel more at home,
secure and happy; something that Forest Hall School is constantly striving to achieve. Even
in spaces outside of the classroom where learning is not the top priority, design that evokes
the power of bright colours creates a revitalising environment that students can thrive
within.

Hamadryad Primary School’s Educational Furniture

Due to our experience in having provided creative school furniture for a range of organisations and institutions, Brookhouse UK was selected to work alongside Hamadryad Primary school in developing high-quality educational furniture for their premises.

We worked closely with Hamadryad Primary School, based in Cardiff, Wales, in order to ensure that we fully understood the goals they had in mind for their refurbishment. A lot of the work we do at Brookhouse UK involves interpreting our clients’ needs, providing them with an end result that they are both impressed and sometimes amazed by! This was a large-scale project for our team, as the school required over 600 pieces of educational furniture.

Our specialist team takes great interest in the significant difference that high-quality, inspiring surroundings can have within an educational setting. Hamadryad Primary School requested that we generated a fun atmosphere that prompted hands-on learning. Part of achieving this involved understanding that children need to be in an environment they thoroughly enjoy and love. We therefore placed an emphasis on developing colourful murals on the walls, matching this with modular furniture such as desks that can be easily adjusted. Switching up the daily layout of the school environment can have a huge benefit on simulating young minds and promoting healthy learning.

Due to the positive benefits associated with outdoor play and learning, Hamadryad aimed to upgrade their outdated outdoor areas too. We renovated this to entertain the pupils with the latest outdoor play area timber. This provided them with new toys, play areas and climbing trails; all of which will be thoroughly enjoyed for many years to come. Our unique designs focus on sparking inspirational play amongst the students, something that can set them on the right path to becoming even more creative individuals.

Glan Morfa’s Fitted Furniture and Equipment

Glan Morfa Primary School is located in Cardiff, Wales. They approached us with their desire to renovate their fitted furniture and educational equipment, and we took on the task in a swift and coordinated manner. We understand how important the education sector is, so we worked quickly in order to provide the students with their new, inspiring environment.

Glan Morfa was excited to get on board with our fitted furniture and equipment consultancy stage, as they understood how this can help develop innovative learning environments that suit the learning styles of both students and teachers. After conducting our consultancy services, it became clear to us that Glan Morfa required a cost-effective solution that could suitably upgrade their old equipment in a way that had a positive impact on the students’ ability to learn effectively.

We also learned that the school endeavored to use space utilisation techniques within their refurbishment projects. Space is increasingly becoming an issue within educational environments, and we endeavor to provide organisations with the most innovative solutions to their space-related issues. Once we had discussed and ensured that the client was pleased with our recommendations and the inspirations we were taking on board for the project, we got to work in assigning them with one of our dedicated Brookhouse UK project managers.

Brentwood’s classroom refurbishment

Brentwood Prep School approached us as they felt they needed a refresh and wanted to see the difference that we could make to their space. After stripping everything down we managed to begin from the ground up, creating a modern space from an old classroom. What was at first just a boring room, is now a haven for children to learn the pro-active way. Furthermore, Brentwood Prep School opted to go with one of our brand new Teacher Walls, otherwise known as our Storage Walls. During the classroom refurbishment process we also provided a washroom refurbishment at the same time to make things go smoothly. 

Following working very closely with Brentwood to make sure that the project went smoothly, as a result both parties were happy with the outcome. We created a brief to help Brentwood achieve their vision, thus leading them to work with us. Previously Brentwood had a miserable classroom, and now finally they have a classroom of which they are proud. Prior to working with BrookhouseUK they were worried that things would go wrong because of a job that went wrong before. Brentwood Prep knew that sooner or later they were going to receive a clean and modern refurbishment project.
