Haringey College Reception Refurbishment
At Brookhouse UK, we have a highly regarded and respected level of proficiency in developing innovative, bright spaces within educational settings. That’s why Haringey Sixth Form College came to us in requesting that we design a new reception area and office space for their campus. They’d recently had their building refurbished, so they were looking for a cohesive design that would complement the successful refurb.
Within higher education in particular, it’s always a great idea to keep spaces lively and up to date with the latest in educational design. Students in higher education today now have more freedom in selecting where they study, with an abundance of new schools and colleges providing a variety of different courses and learning environments.
Highlighting the use of innovative, forward-thinking design can improve enrolment rates for any school. When combined with design ingenuity in an aesthetically pleasing environment, prospective enrolees are more likely to trust the school’s level of commitment to its students.

Combining Branding and Interior Design
As renowned designers for modern educational settings, we understand the great impact that incorporating branding can have on any interior design project. Considering the success of Haringey Sixth Form College’s instantly recognisable lime colour scheme, it became immediately obvious to us that we had to infuse this palette throughout our designs. This ultimately creates a more cohesive design, reminding staff and students of the entity they’re working and studying within.
Haringey College was extremely impressed with the ways we used their signature colour palettes to bring their new interiors to life. Adding a touch of branding to their spaces means students feel at home in their learning environments, without going too overboard.
In balancing the design, we utilised mixed materials such as muted grey wooden surfaces. These worked alongside the vibrant pops of colour to create a contemporary yet warm and welcoming space. Modern lighting systems mean the learning areas appear increasingly spacious, providing economical solutions that will remain functional for many years.
Our New Covid-19 Project Methodology
In working with Haringey College, we had to undertake strict precautions with regards to limiting the spread of Covid-19. We therefore implemented the guidelines outlined in our thoughtfully designed Covid-19 Project Methodology throughout the task. The health and safety of all our staff and clients alike is extremely important to us at Brookhouse UK.
We are dedicated to doing all we can to provide a safe working space for our team members. This is a philosophy that, in turn, protects all who will utilise our spaces in the near future. We took all safeguarding very seriously while working on the Haringey College project, considering social distancing measures, upholding regular sanitisation and cleaning routines and working in a manner that put safety first.
Haringey Sixth Form College were pleased to see we held their staff and students’ wellbeing with a high level of regard, so they could rest assured that we took the necessary precautions in developing their new space.
